Is it right for me?
- Lingering pain with hot or cold, or pain that wakes you at night
- Swelling or a small bump on the gum near a tooth
- Deep decay or a large crack seen on X-ray
- A tooth that was treated before and now hurts again
How it works
- Diagnosis
X-rays and tests show whether the nerve can recover or needs treatment.
- Cleaning the canals
Under local anaesthetic the infected tissue is removed and the canals are cleaned and shaped.
- Sealing
The canals are filled and sealed, usually over 2 to 4 visits.
- Crown
A back tooth is usually protected with a crown so it does not crack.
Insurance and cost
Root canal treatment is covered by Korean health insurance. Crowns are generally not covered for adults; the price depends on the material, and we tell you before we start. Don't leave a temporary filling for long: it can break or leak.
Planning around your stay in Korea
Tell us your shift pattern and any travel dates. We space the visits to fit, and make sure the tooth is sealed and protected before a long trip.
Aftercare
- Avoid chewing hard food on the tooth until the crown is fitted
- Mild tenderness for a few days is common
- Call us if swelling appears or pain gets worse
- Keep check-ups so we can watch the tooth on X-ray
Questions
Is root canal treatment covered by insurance?
Yes. The root canal is covered by Korean health insurance; you pay the co-pay. The crown is usually a separate, non-covered cost for adults.
How much does a crown cost?
It depends on the material. We give you the price before treatment starts.
Do I really need a crown?
Back teeth after a root canal crack easily, so a crown is usually recommended. Front teeth sometimes need only a filling.
Can I be seen today for a toothache?
Send a photo on WhatsApp or call 041-352-7518 during opening hours and we give you the earliest time.
