Introducing Guardian Smile Preview: see your new smile before you book

What is Guardian Smile Preview?

Before cosmetic treatment, it can be hard to imagine the result. Guardian Smile Preview is a free tool on our website that shows a simulation of whitening, laminate veneers or straightened teeth on your own smile photo, so you can come to your consultation with a clearer idea of what you want.

What you can preview

  • Whitening: five shades from your current colour to the brightest. This runs entirely on your phone or computer, and the photo is never uploaded.
  • Laminate veneers (GDC AI): three styles, Natural, Bright and Hollywood, showing shape, small gaps and colour.
  • Straightening (GDC AI): close gaps, align crowding, or full alignment. Tooth colour stays the same, so you see the effect of orthodontics alone.

How to take a good photo

The preview works best with a clear, centred photo. Before you take it:

  1. Put your mouth in the centre of the frame. If your mouth sits near the edge, the teeth are harder to find and the result looks less natural.
  2. Face the camera straight, with the phone at the height of your mouth. Don't tilt your head.
  3. Fill the frame from nose to chin and smile so your teeth are visible.
  4. Use bright, even light. Face a window, and turn off filters and beauty mode.

If the teeth area is not quite right, use Adjust teeth area to paint over missed teeth or remove lips and gums.

What happens to your photo

The clinic does not receive or keep your photo. Whitening is processed on your device. For veneers and straightening, a cropped image of your mouth only is sent to Google Cloud (Vertex AI) for processing, and only after you tick the consent box. It is not used to train AI models. You can delete the photo at any time, and you can save the result image if you want to show it at your visit.

What it cannot tell you

The preview is a visual simulation, not a diagnosis. Your camera and lighting change the colours, and veneers or orthodontics may not suit every tooth. Whether a treatment is right for you can only be decided after an examination. Bring your saved preview to your consultation and we will talk through what is realistic for your teeth, in English, Vietnamese, Chinese or Russian.

Questions

Is Guardian Smile Preview free?

Yes. It is free to use, and using it does not commit you to any treatment.

Does the clinic see my photo?

No. The clinic does not receive or store your photo. Veneer and straightening previews send a cropped mouth image to Google Cloud for processing only after you agree.

Why does my preview look strange?

Usually the mouth is not in the centre, the head is tilted or the light is dim. Retake the photo straight on, in bright light, with your mouth in the middle of the frame.

General information, not a diagnosis. Your dentist will advise you after an examination.
