The Seoul dental travel kit: 8 things to pack (and 3 to buy at a convenience store)
A small pouch that saves a holiday. Plus what Korean convenience stores and pharmacies can fill in.
Pack a soft toothbrush, floss or interdental brushes, a sensitive-teeth toothpaste, orthodontic wax, the painkiller you normally use, a small mirror and your dentist’s notes. Korean convenience stores sell toothbrush sets, and pharmacies (look for 약국) stock common pain relief and mouthwash.
Pack these eight
- Soft toothbrush with a cap. Hard bristles plus jet lag is how gums get scratched.
- Floss or interdental brushes. Street food finds every gap.
- Toothpaste for sensitive teeth. Essential if you plan whitening.
- Orthodontic wax. Covers a sharp chipped edge or a loose wire until you reach us.
- Your usual painkiller. One you know agrees with you.
- A small mirror and phone torch. For the photo you will send us if something breaks.
- A night guard, if you wear one. Hotel beds and long flights are classic grinding triggers.
- Notes or X-rays from home, saved on your phone.
Buy these in Seoul
Korean convenience stores, found on almost every Myeongdong corner, sell compact toothbrush-and-toothpaste sets, mouthwash and dental floss. Pharmacies are marked 약국 (yak-guk) and stock common pain relief and oral gels; pharmacists in central Seoul are used to helping visitors.
Three things not to do
- Do not glue a crown back on with household glue. Bring it to us instead.
- Do not put aspirin on your gum. It can burn the tissue.
- Do not wait until the flight home. Message us a photo the day it starts.
