Getting a dental implant in Korea as a visitor: why it takes two trips
A single implant is a 3–5 day first visit and a short second visit months later. Here is why the wait is worth it.

A dental implant needs time to fuse with the jawbone before the final tooth goes on. With DIAplant, the first trip takes about 3–5 days for planning and placement; the final crown is fitted on a second trip after about 3–4 months. Full-arch implants take 7–14 days on the first trip, also followed by a second trip.
Why you cannot finish in one trip
An implant is a small titanium root placed in the jawbone. Over the following months, the bone grows tightly around it. This process, called osseointegration, is what makes an implant strong enough to chew on. Fitting the final crown too early risks the implant failing.
Trip 1: plan and place (3–5 days)
- 3D CT scan and plan. A periodontist checks bone height and width and plans the implant position digitally.
- Placement. The implant is placed under local anaesthetic. IV conscious sedation is available if you are nervous.
- Check. We review healing before you fly and give you written aftercare in English.
Between trips
You go home with the area healing. For front teeth, we discuss a temporary solution so you are not left with a visible gap. If anything feels wrong, message us with a photo: our team replies with translation support.
Trip 2: the final crown (after 3–4 months)
We check the implant, take a scan and fit the final crown, made in our in-house lab. Most people combine this second visit with another short holiday.
Reference cost
